AYALA Polo Team achieves historic victory over Dubai Polo Team !
-> Ayala ended with Dubai's winning streak by defeating them by 15-10 and forced a triple point tie.
The AYALA Polo Team of patron - the Filipino  Iñigo Zobel -  that counts with british Jack Hyde and brothers Nicolás and Facundo Pieres played their best match of the season. Facundo Pieres had a flawless game that stopped the success of Rashid Albwardy and Adolfo Cambiaso, who also lost his own winning streak of 25 matches in a row in Sotogrande.
Iñigo Zobel: “Its the first time that I get to play with Facundo and Nicolás, and we are getting to know each other but its going well. They brought really good horses, and we were also able to rent horses from King Power, which was great for us. We had some rough start at the tournament, but its getting much better"

-> 'Brunei' and 'Ayala' Polo team have made it to the finals of the 45th INDI International Polo Tournament Casa de Campo Silver Cup after a penalty shootout with team Dubai yesterday !

"Last time I was in Sotogrande was 5 years ago, when we won only the Silver Cup in 2011. We won all three titles on 2008. To win all three titles, it takes good teamwork, good organization, the right horses, and to work together.
Its great to be back here, the fields are great, the competition is fantastic, there’s five amazing teams! The first game with Dubai was tough, and it was our first game so we still didn't know how to play together, now we do.''
Brunei has two teams this year (medium and high goal)

Dubai  played versus Lechuza Caracas and did win the Maserati Bronze Cup - high goal  - 2016 !





Medium goal:  - Aerolineas Argentinas Silver Cup -

The medium goal category also had  its penalty shootouts to determine who would join the already qualified Seven Sevens and Brunei, and now Sainte Mesme and Golden Goose Deluxe Brand have completed the semifinals stage.

Sainte Mesme defeated The Emerging/FCT by 15-7, while, Brunei defeated  Twenty/20 by 11-6, qualifying for the semi-finals as well as Seven Sevens.
Both teams were undefeated so far and are the first teams to reach this decisive stage of the trophy. Kazak won versus Santa Quitería by 13-10 and Royal Salute won in OT to The Emerging/FCT by 12-11.

Brunei will play versus Sainte Mesme, while Seven Sevens take on Golden Goose Deluxe Brand. Both matches will take place tomorrow at 17:30 hs at Los Pinos.The Bronze Cup semifinals matches will be Royal Salute vs. Kazak, and GSA vs. Twenty/20. These two matches will be played tomorrow at 11 at the Rio fields.


Isolas 1892 Silver Cup  (Low Goal)

On Monday, Lechuza-John Smith, Rock 'n Roll 'Jolly Rogers' Team ( Niclas Johansson 0, Daniel Gariador 2, Jamie Le Hardy 4, Francisco Morales 0), La Clarita and Sotovila had qualified for the Isolas 1892 Low Goal Silver Cup that had its final qualifying stage !
The match day had the following results: Jolly Rogers 10 vs Lechuza John Smith 8; El Campito 8 vs Bayswater 7; Chester Race Course 12 vs Valdeparras 6 and Sotovila 7 vs La Clarita 6.

Thus, Lechuza-John Smith and La Clarita will play the finals of the Isolas 1892 Silver Cup after winning  on the semifinals of the low goal category. Lechuza-John Smith defeated Sotovila by 10-9 in OT thanks to a goal by Pelayo Berazadi, while La Clarita defeated Jolly Rogers by 9-5.

The winners will meet for the second trophy of the season in their category tomorrow Saturday 13.08.2016 at 12.15 in the Puente de Hierro Field 1.
The subsidiary finals will be between El Campito and Chester Race Course after winning their matches versus Valdeparras (8-7) and Bayswater (10-6), respectively.




Low Goal Bronze Cup Isolas 1892:



Last weekend, team 'Sotovila' was crowned champion of the Low Goal Bronze Cup Isolas 1892 after defeating Jolly Rogers in the finals by 10-9...

The win by the quartet formed by Daniel Entrecanales, Carlos Piñal, Diogo Gallego and Pedro Beca reached OT and won thanks to a 60-yard penalty (golden goal) converted by Diogo Gallego. It was a very rowdy match as both teams alternated the lead in the scoreboard, and the widest goal difference was just two goals (Jolly Rogers (red shirts)  (Niclas Johansson 0, Daniel Gariador 2, Jamie Le Hardy 4, Francisco Morales 0) 7-5 in the fourth chukka), which proves the level of both teams of this final was even.
'Sotovila' then, was the first team to raise a Cup in the 45th INDI International Polo Tournament 2016 in Sotogrande - Spain -
