TICKET AND HOSPITALTY SALES SOAR TO RECORD LEVELS FOR THE 149TH OPEN AT ROYAL ST GEORGE’S

Record levels of demand from fans has led to more than 50% of tickets already being sold for The 149th Open at Royal St George’s from 12-19 July 2020.
A record number of advanced tickets were snapped up within 24 hours of going in sale earlier this month, with both Weekly and Weekend Bundle ticket categories proving to be hugely popular and now completely sold out. The Open’s Origins premium ticket and hospitality packages are also selling at an unprecedented rate.

Fans can still book their place at the famous Kent links by purchasing tickets via TheOpen.com, provided they are members of The One Club. Membership of The One Club guarantees priority access to tickets and is free to join by registering via TheOpen.com/The-One-Club.

Johnnie Cole-Hamilton, Executive Director – Championships at The R&A, said,
“We are moving into a new era with The Open where we are seeing larger attendances and huge enthusiasm among fans to be part of one of the world’s great sporting events.
“Our initial sales for Royal St George’s have been faster than they were even for Royal Portrush so we would urge fans to make sure that the book their tickets in advance to avoid missing out on the Championship’s return to Kent for the first time in almost a decade.”

Children under 16 will continue to be able to attend The Open free of charge under the Kids Go Free initiative provided they are accompanied by an adult guardian who has secured a junior ticket in advance from TheOpen.com.

Fans under 25 will be able to save as much as 50% off the cost of an Adult ticket thanks to reduced price options
The Open Camping Village, which offers free accommodation for young people provided they are with an adult, will also return and details will be released over the coming weeks.
A new range of hospitality experiences, Origins, has also been launched for The 149th Open and these packages are now on sale via TheOpen.com.

Fans can choose from three packages on offer – Scorers, Engravers and Champions – and enjoy world class hospitality as they watch the world’s best golfers compete to lift the iconic Claret Jug.
