--> Three days of sailing and onshore activities drew over 130,000 spectators – with full count of media, VIPS, on water and other off site visitors still to be counted...

--> Unfortunatly extreme weather with winds of over 40 knots forced cancellation of final day racing (sunday) and onshore event programme

--> The Royal Couple, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the event today, to show their support for the British America's Cup Challenger TEAM Land Rover BAR, meet important personalities; support the youngsters from the 1851 Trust, the official charity of Land Rover BAR and the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series, Portsmouth event, which seeks to inspire and engage a new generation through sailing and the marine industry; and present the official prizes, a ´Victory Trophy´ to the winner and an ´Endevour Trophy´ to the other five competing teams.

"The event showcased what an increasable spectacle the America's Cup can deliver to Portsmouth. We were delighted with the visitor figures and would like to thank everyone that attended and supported the event. Whether it was giving the sailors a huge welcome on Thursday, braving the rain on Friday or enjoying the perfect champagne sailing conditions yesterday - the spectator support made a huge difference. Today's cancellation was unfortunate but the safety of spectators and the sailors is paramount and the wind speeds were simply un-safe. The plans for next year start tomorrow and we are already looking forward to July 2016" ´

"It's a real shame that we didn't get to race today, because of the amount of effort I know Team Origin and everyone has put into the event here in Portsmouth, and the number of spectators and fans we had out watching the racing yesterday. But that is the weather and unfortunately we can't control it.
"We're absolutely delighted to win the first America's Cup World Series here in Portsmouth, it's a great start for us on our America's Cup journey. It's incredible for us, to win here on our home patch, in front of our home crowd, it's a massive statement for the future.
"In my sailing career, I've never seen anything like yesterday. The amount of people that came out on the water, on the shore line, supporting the event and supporting us as a home team, we were all of us as a team completely blown away by."
