The I.C.E. St. Moritz JANUAR 2026:
The International Jury Announced - The frozen lake of St. Moritz will once again host automotive masterpieces and a world-renowned jury

St. Moritz, 18th December 2025 – Updated 9th January 2026 –

The Engadin has donned its most spectacular winter attire as it prepares to welcome one of the season’s most anticipated events: The I.C.E., now firmly established as an unmissable appointment.

On 30th and 31st January 2026, the frozen lake of St. Moritz will once again transform into an extraordinary stage where automotive masterpieces are celebrated as works of art in motion. Collectors, enthusiasts, and international visitors will be immersed in an experience that blends heritage, style, and pure emotion on ice.

A record number of applications has been received, confirming the growing interest from the international collector community, and the selection process of the official entries is now completed.

Vehicles will compete in five classes:

Barchettas on the Lake,
Open Wheels,
Icons on Wheels, and two new additions:
Birth of the Hypercar and
Legendary Liveries.
Each category invites guests to read the automobile as a cultural code where beauty, engineering, and iconic allure meet.

This year’s international jury,
composed of world-class experts, brings together technical expertise and artistic sensibility, including leading figures from the automotive world, as well as design, fashion, and the arts.

Marco Makaus, founder and Patron of The I.C.E. St. Moritz, author of several books dedicated to brands that have written the history of motoring. He attended the first Concorso d’Eleganza in 1989, has been part of various international juries and still collaborates in the organization of many classic and vintage car events, including Mille Miglia, Villa d’Este Style and Villa la Massa Excellence.

Richard Adatto, one of the world’s leading experts on classic cars and an award-winning author of books on French automotive styling, he has been on the board of the Mullin Automotive Museum and a member of the selection committee at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elégance, where he has also been a judge for more than thirty years.

The I.C.E. St. Moritz – The International Concours of Elegance
The brainchild of Marco Makaus back in 2019, the event has created an unprecedented concept in the world of concours d’élégance: a unique fusion of art and sport, both static and dynamic in a unique location. The event, inseparable from the lake which hosts it, has always been held with respect for the Engadin’s environmental and natural heritage. Participating cars are carefully selected and public access limited specifically to safeguard their priceless value.

26. FEB 2023:   Roaring success for The I.C.E. St. Moritz - International Concours d’Elegance !

The 2023 edition of The I.C.E. St. Moritz, ended yesterday afternoon with great success.
The most anticipated and exclusive competition in the Engadine brought a parterre of dream cars to the frozen surface of the lake.
The spectacular two-day exhibition in a breathtaking atmosphere saw a record with a total of more than 11,000 participants including drivers, collectors, enthusiasts, public and media from all over the world.

A glamorous auditorium presented 48 stars of the best classic and racing cars that have made automotive
history and can hardly be seen in similar settings.
Over the course of the two days, the jury of experts and prominent personalities were called upon to judge the cars' history, originality, authenticity and condition, interacting with individual collectors and also evaluating their driving dynamics during the sessions.

The level of these stars did not make the jury's job easy, and they finally decreed the winners in each individual category:

Open Wheels                       Maserati 420M/58 “Eldorado” of 1958: from a moment when motorsport tried to unite
European and US trends, and the first example of commercial sponsoring

Barchettas on the Lake       Ferrari 500 Mondial Series II of 1955: the triumph of conservation vs. restoration

Le Mans 100                         Ferrari 250 Testarossa “Lucybelle” of 1958: one of the most beautiful racing car
                                              designs ever

Concept Cars & One Offs    Lancia Strato's HF Zero of 1970: a concept that changed car design forever

Queens on Wheels               Bentley S1 Continental Drophead Coupé of 1958: a true Queen of elegance.

The St. Moritz Concours d'Elegance’s "Best in Show" award:    on the other hand, went to the beautiful Lancia Strato's HF Zero, a futuristic body designed by Marcello Gandini

"We are very satisfied with this 2023 edition that confirms the choice of the new format designed over two days. 48 hours of emotions where the stage of the St. Moritz Lake welcomed enthusiasts who came from all over the world. We would very much like to thank the Sponsors, Partners, Exhibitors and participating collectors who believed in this event and renewed their trust in us" - says Marco Makaus, creator and Patron  of The I.C.E.
